The old tub comes out and goes with us, a walk-in shower goes into the same footprint, and the drain and supply lines stay exactly where they are. We do the reverse too, replacing a dated shower with a soaker or walk-in tub, when that suits the room better.

Faucets

New taps, showerheads and hardware fitted to your existing connections, usually a same-day job. If you are keeping the sink, send us a photo and we will tell you what fits the existing hole spacing before you buy anything.

Showers

Frameless glass enclosures, rainfall and multi-jet showerheads, built-in benches and shelf niches. Worth deciding on the extras while we are measuring, because they change how the surround panels are cut.

Wall Surrounds

Solid surface or natural stone. Solid surface is seamless with no grout lines to scrub. Stone costs more and looks it. Both go in over a single day when they are replacing what is already there.

I can’t begin to say how happy I am with Sam and his crew @Showcase. I had some work done in multiple places in my house. Flooring, bathroom, and to fix the shortcuts of a previous contractor… My experience - On time. Done right. Fair price. They walked me through the process, kept to their word, and cleaned up after themselves. Everyone was so polite - it was like my best friends were doing the work for me! I highly recommend their services.

Remodeling a bathroom for accessibility usually takes about 3 to 8 weeks. The timeline can vary based on the complexity of the modifications needed, such as structural changes for wider doorways or installing specialized fixtures like walk-in tubs.
For enhancing both energy efficiency and safety, consider installing LED lighting for better visibility, radiant floor heating to avoid the chill from tile floors, and thermostatic shower valves to maintain a safe water temperature and prevent scalding.
When choosing materials for an accessible bathroom, focus on slip-resistance and ease of maintenance. Textured floor tiles, sturdy grab bars, and solid surface materials for countertops are excellent choices. These materials are durable and can help prevent accidents.
While the return on investment for a general bathroom remodel ranges from 60% to 70%, remodeling for accessibility can be particularly appealing to buyers looking for homes that cater to older adults or those with mobility needs, potentially increasing the home’s marketability.
Yes, remodeling a bathroom for accessibility generally requires a permit, especially if the project involves structural changes, electrical upgrades, or significant plumbing modifications.
